When I use my hobby plan and run out of credit, automatic payment on my debit card will either resume or pause all services (and reactivate when I top up and restart).

if you have automatic payment on your debit card set up then your services will keep running and your card will be charged automatically for any usage over the 5 dollar included credit. this is how the hobby plan works when railway switched to requiring post paid cards. your services wont pause they continue running and you just get billed for the extra usage

Thank you for your response. I would like to ask further: if I only use a regular payment card (not a debit card) and I don't send any additional funds, will there be any warnings or problems? And can I cancel my hobby package or temporarily suspend the service?

railway accepts both credit cards and debit cards so a regular payment card works fine. you dont need to send additional funds because railway automatically charges your card at the end of each billing cycle for any usage over 5 dollars. if your payment fails railway will send you a warning and then stop your services until the invoice is paid. yes you can cancel your hobby plan by going to billing page and clicking cancel plan which will stop all your services and prevent further charges. there is no temporary suspend option you can only cancel which stops everything. your plan stays active until the end of your current billing cycle after you cancel
