Hello everyone,
First off, we want to open with how many of you are there. We are growing now at a rate of over 9,000+ new users a day (with a new record yesterday) - usually that will be a cause for celebration but we did have builds get affected... so no cake for us.
The long short of the source of impact was that with the influx of new users arriving at peak hours, the queues that we rely on were temporarily overloaded. On both occasions we had to limit the deployments per plan. Usually our platform teams are able to bump up the limits or use a stronger machine to handle more load but we are at the point where the platform team needs to improve the overall structure of our queue system that we use for builds and other actions on the platform.
For the prior incidents, Pro/Enterprise customers were able to deploy but it did mean that Trial/Hobby did get delayed.
That is frustrating for sure, especially when you rely on us to ship the changes that you have quickly. (Even if you aren't a company.) We know you rely on us and as such, we are working on improving resiliency
We have mitigated the scaling impact but we require some time for a upgrade that will help us handle more throughput. We are putting this window at an off-peak (for US-East) time of 11 AM GMT - 2 PM GMT for March 11th 2026. We don't expect any impact but out of an abundance of caution, we are calling it in case there is observed impact.
Any impact that may be observed will result in delays in any async actions on the platform like staged changes, deployments, or setting applications.
After this window is completed, we will reply in the thread and update the content to let you know when it's completed on our status page and here.

Hi! thanks for the update and the hard work you guys are doing in this platform, it's really incredible and i use it on a daily basis for my job.
unluckily i'm experiencing issues as well, despite being outside the maintenance window you mentioned. i'm deploying one service, which usually takes 2 minutes at most, but it has been already 40 minutes and it's still "building"
any thoughts on that? you think everything will still be solved by 3pm?

All my deployments are now failing. I'm not sure how you manage to mess everything up so badly. Cloudflare pages deploys in less than 10 seconds but railway takes over 5 minutes and still fails.

availability being affected. Could you confirm whether this is an
expected side effect of the upgrade, and provide an ETA for restoration?

I'm having the same issue - custom domains failing, not appearing but still being visible, cloudflare SSLs not firing.....will all this be resolved once maintenance is over or is this a new issue?

Update: we have completed the maintenance with no downtime on any of our systems. I'm sure Angelo will have a nicer explanation than I do, but this should buy us significant headroom for future growth.

Okay, after action. It looks like the upgrade is helping us handle the load quite well.
We should see less hang ups when it comes to staged deployments and builds.
For the person that is reporting a slow build of 5 minutes, unfortunately, that is the default experience- that said, we are working on making deployments instant. More to announce on that front when we have something to show for everyone here.
