Plan, usage, free credits and final cost

Hi, I really like this site and I will probably join Hobby Plan after trial.

One thing I'm not sure I like is wording of the Hobby Plan offer. I had to spend some time reading help to understand how it works.

You write that Hobby Plan:
- Includes $5 of monthly usage credits

- After credits are used, you'll only be charged for extra resource usage

I have an issue with word "only". It suggests that user pays only for extra usage because you give him $5 of usage credit. That's not the case. User pays for subscription + any usage above $5.

I believe that it should go like:
- user pays $5 subscription fee
- then he pays extra for any usage above $5

Also, the Usage tab seems to be misleading:

After 3.5 days of stable usage I get:

ct 28 to Nov 02 Credit Usage

Current Usage

$0.97

Discounts

$0.00

Credits Used

$0.00

Estimated Month's Cost

$0.00

It doesn't add up. I would rather expect some $8- $9. Please correct me if I get it all wrong.

Hey, the documentation for Railway's pricing clears up all the confusion regarding the pricing with examples. Regarding the usage tab, would it be possible for you to include a screenshot of it?

Of course. Here you are:

And yes, your documentation for Railway's pricing clears thing alright but it takes some effort and time to get to it so you could make it more straightforward with little change of wording.

Hey, do you mind sharing where you found the wording? Feel free to open a feedback thread if this lies within the Railway dashboard and not the documentation.

I suppose that your usage page looks like this because you are on the trial plan and won't be charged. Once you are on a paid plan, where you can get charged, the usage page will be updated to show you your current usage and the estimated bill. I have attached a screenshot to illustrate how it would look like, if you were on an active plan.

As a matter of fact in the beginning (like first day of trial) Estimated Month's Cost displayed some amount above 0. Later, it went to null which can look misleading as three days usage of $1 will bring $5 in 15 days and free trial will be disabled I guess - prematurely.

What I'm basically saying is that you obviously charge for real usage which is fair but newbies like me can find it hard to understand what will be real charges when trial is over. Your Plans page: https://railway.com/workspace/plans introduces uncertainty with sentence: "After credits are used, you'll only be charged for extra resource usage". It should go like: "After you pay subscription you will be extra charged after exceeding $5 of usage".

Other than that I find Railway great with all control it gives to user and much cheaper than n8n cloud!

Thanks, I don't want to cause more disturbance than necessary. Moderators can move this thread if they think it makes sense.
