Hello,
I would like to express my concern regarding the recent downtime of my production database.
The service has been offline for approximately 45 minutes without any prior warning. This is particularly problematic as the database is used in a live environment, and such interruptions have a direct impact on business operations.
Receiving a notification at the same time as the outage does not provide sufficient time to prepare or mitigate the issue. For production systems, advance notice is essential.
I would appreciate clarification on:
- Why no prior notice was given
- Whether this behavior is expected going forward
- What guarantees or safeguards are in place to prevent similar situations
This level of service interruption is not acceptable for a production environment, and I need to understand how this will be handled in the future.
I look forward to your response.

Hello,
As an additional update, I attempted to redeploy the service in order to mitigate the issue, but the process is currently stuck on “Taking a snapshot of the code” and has been for over 2 minutes.
At the moment, I am unable to take any corrective action on my side, and the service remains unavailable.
This further highlights the lack of control during the incident and makes it difficult to handle a production outage effectively.
Please advise on how to proceed and whether there is an ongoing issue affecting deployments as well.

Same issue here. Production database has been down for over an hour now. The email said 30 minutes - we're well past that. Redeployment is stuck as well, spinning for 15+ minutes. Our Flask app is completely offline and this is impacting business operations. Any ETA on resolution?

This is absolutely unbelievable behaviour. I receive an email that my production service will go down FOR AN HOUR effective immediately? And that is somehow a planned "NOTICE"? What kind of a joke is this?
What am I supposed to do? What are my users supposed to do? what a joke

I'm debugging since 1 hour, only 2 minutes ago , the message from railway came trough. I mean,it was unexpected, expected? communication is the key, in the future, promptly report to your user any issue!!!!
It is an absolutely unacceptable behavior from a major service provider as Railway!!!

I got this:
Hello,

- Resource: (the resource)
- Duration: 30 minutes from time of this notification
- Impact: Service will be offline
There is no action required on your part. Your service will automatically resume once maintenance completes. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Radio silence from Railway on this. Very disappointed to see no public discussion, explanation, or postmortem. I understand mistakes and growing pains, but this is strongly making me consider move my infra to more reliable providers even if their setup complexity is higher ☹
