Add India Region for Deployment

Hi Railway Team,

I’d like to suggest adding an India-based deployment region to Railway.

Currently, the closest available region for Indian users is Singapore. While it works, there is still noticeable latency compared to what a local Indian region could provide. Railway has a growing user base in India, including developers building production-grade applications where lower latency and faster response times are critical.

Use Case:

Many of us are building apps for Indian users (e.g., SaaS platforms, real-time apps, dashboards). Hosting closer to India would significantly improve performance and user experience.

Current Limitation:

  • Higher latency due to region distance (Singapore)
  • Slight delays in API response times
  • Not ideal for real-time or high-performance applications

Requested Feature:

  • Add at least one Indian region (e.g., Mumbai / Bangalore)
  • Option to select India region during deployment

This would greatly benefit a large and rapidly growing developer community in India and make Railway even more competitive as a global platform.

Thanks for the amazing product and continuous improvements

+1 to this, India region is really needed now.

Railway currently only has regions in the US, EU, and Singapore (APAC), which is the closest for us.

But for India-based users, even Singapore introduces noticeable latency. There are real cases where first requests take 6–7 seconds from India, which directly impacts UX.

A Mumbai region would significantly improve performance for a huge and growing user base.

Would love to see this on the roadmap. 🙂

+1 Absolutely correct! after DPDP tracking regulations introduced in India, now the Indian server locations are needed. we have our app deployed on railway right now on US EAST but we have to move on Indian servers within few days due to DPDP enforcement.

I also need India region for production, railway provide best experience for hosting thats why It feels like firebase- tempting and lock-ins. I really love railway for deploying my apps but One thing always stops me that is the available regions, and then I move towards supabase because that provide Indian regions for my backend. Backend development feels smooth with railway but regions does not.

+1 Strongly Agree, I have started a digital company where I onboard local businesses online. Currently I am doing this part time along with my full time job

I am using railway since 2 years and I am very impressed by its simplicity and pricing model.

Railway is already very competitive but pricing alone will not win the game, I have 2 SAAS and multiple business related apps running on my railway, but the latency is a big issue

I want to stick to railway, but for that we need Servers located in India, choose any of the Teir 1 Cities like Gurgaon(Delhi NCR)/Banglore/Hyderabad/Kolkata etc

+1 We're going to migrate off Railway as our customers need data residency in India and currently that is not supported. If this feature can be supported, we'll be very happy to continue using Railway.

Having a deployment region available in India is helpful for us for communicating with third-party services as they explicitly require an Indian IP address for whitelisting the incoming requests.

That's right, i built a trading app for my indian users, the problem is when someone tries to register or create thier account, it always throws error "Network Error". But it always works perfect with other country's users. Which is really frustrating. Its some kind of latency issue with railway and indian ISPs. Because of this i am moving backend to vercel also as my frontend is already there.
