Railway adding a managed database service would be amazing for us. We've been looking at PlanetScale and similar services, but honestly the latency hit from having our database in a different datacenter is rough, plus the bandwidth costs add up fast. Having everything in one place on Railway would solve both problems and make our lives so much easier.
As an MVP, I wouldn't mind if the managed database were simply relayed to an external service (similar to how Vercel uses Neon under the hood), as long as the bandwidth costs remain free.

Unfortunately not, there's a significant gap between managed databases and Railway's databases, which are essentially a service with volume.
