"MariaDB originated as a drop-in replacement for MySQL; the two databases have diverged since version 5.6 in some features, syntax, and behaviour. Over sixteen years of independent development, MariaDB has evolved into a distinct database with capabilities spanning transactional, analytical, and AI workloads." (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MariaDB)

The divergence between MySQL and MariaDB mean there are real and significant difference in how they are administered. While they may remain mostly compatible at the application layer, the systems work needed to support them has diverged significantly.

Please add MariaDB as a supported database.
