I'm a freelance developer/agency building and hosting projects for multiple clients on Railway. Today, my only clean way to give each client control over their own billing is to create a brand-new Railway account per client, then juggle logins, invites and handoffs. It's tedious for me, and confusing for non-technical clients who just want to enter a card and be done.
What I'd like: an "Agency" mode
One agency account, many client workspaces. I stay Owner/Admin of every client workspace from my own login, without separate accounts.
Separate billing per workspace. Each client workspace has its own billing profile and payment method, owned by the client. Invoices go to them, not to me. The client can be invited with a billing-only role so they can manage their card and invoices without touching infrastructure.
Billing handoff flow. I set up the workspace, then send the client a simple link to add their payment method and take over billing, while I keep admin access.
Free trial per new client workspace. Each new client workspace gets a trial (or setup credit) so I can build and configure their stack before they're billed or have entered a card.
Referral/affiliate attribution that works with this setup. Client workspaces created under my agency account should count toward the affiliate program, since I'm the one bringing those customers to Railway. Right now creating accounts manually breaks or complicates attribution.
Why it matters
Agencies and freelancers are a strong acquisition channel: every client we onboard becomes a paying Railway customer.
It removes the main friction of recommending Railway to non-technical clients (account setup and billing ownership).
Clearer ownership: clients pay for what they use, agencies keep operational control, nobody shares credentials.
