Railway's AI assistant has been locked inside the dashboard — if you're working in Claude Code, Cursor, or any other agentic environment, you've had to context-switch back to the browser to use it. A couple of weeks back, we shipped the Remote MCP server and an update to the CLI that added a "railway-agent" call for interacting with Railway's in product agent.
We've now exposed this agent as an HTTP API endpoint (/api/v1/agent) so external tools can talk to it directly. It supports both streaming for (real-time use like in CLIs and MCP servers), and synchronous JSON responses for automation and CI/CD pipelines. Same capabilities as the dashboard assistant, just accessible from wherever you're already working.
