Hi,
Currently we can only withdraw cash using GitHub Sponsors or Buy Me A Coffee. There would be some distinct advantages if we added Stripe Connect for payouts:
It doesn't require manual verification (like GitHub does)
transaction fees are lower (BuyMeACoffee takes 5%).
Additionally, both platforms use Stripe Connect for actual payouts.
Please upvote this post and add your thoughts if you'd like to see the team prioritize this!

With Stripe and BMAC's combined fee of 7.9% that's ~$80 per $1000 or if we use Stripe and GitHub's combined fee of 8.9% it becomes ~$90 per $1000. That can add up fast.
With just Stripe's fee of 2.9%, it's more reasonable at ~$30 per $1000.

It would take some investment to make this work. Specifically we'd need to get all the governance in place regarding tax laws and such. But I think it would be worth the effort and the absolute best solution for paying out the community

this is the only way the Railway marketplace becomes economically competitive, from an earner's perspective at least

With Stripe Connect we could still have that but without the massive losses from payout fees!

Love this idea! In addition, new creators to GitHub Sponsors will realize after their first payout that they need to wait 60 days to actually get their funds; like I did after it was too late, haha.

Yep, that's me (I'm on the 90 day retention period in GH Sponsors)Also Stripe Connect is available in multiple countries contrary to BMAC (which for some reason doesn't operates in Brazil)

This is such a great idea. I'm struggling with the Github sponsor approach. I requested payout after reaching min threshold of $100 and 2 weeks later, payment is pending

We are waiting to hear back from BMAC's support team to allow us to continue doing payouts.

Thanks Brody for the speedy reply. I appreciate it. I've been sending over 500 new people to railway in the past couple of months via my online course. People are really enjoying the value of railway. I hope that the BMAC issue is resolved quickly.
