I have to admit, being redirected to Central Station just to ask whether a feature exists gave me some serious corporate-job flashbacks. "Sorry, can't tell you whether that exists until you submit a ticket." 😄
More seriously, I think Central Station suffers from a discoverability problem. I've seen Railway employees mention that certain features aren't worth prioritizing because they receive minimal engagement here.
But similar discussions seem to get significantly more engagement on Discord, which creates a catch-22. Post on Central Station and risk a feature being deprioritized due to limited engagement, or post on Discord, where the community is more active, and get redirected to Central Station.
So I'm genuinely curious: How does Railway prioritize feature requests?
Is it based on user surveys? Feedback from paying customers? Enterprise demand? Internal product direction? Engagement and upvotes on Central Station?
If there's a feature I'd really like to see, what's the most effective way to advocate for it? Do I need to promote my Central Station post to other Railway users to collect upvotes? Should I be yelling about it on Twitter? (ick)
I'm asking sincerely, even if some of these questions sound sarcastic. I'd love to understand how Railway weighs feedback, particularly when engagement varies so much between platforms.
Will this passionate post degrade my chances of getting my feature requests through forever?
For context, I was directed here after asking for clarification about an existing feature's capabilities.
