Hello Railway Community!

We want to inform you about an important upcoming change to our build system. On February 21st, 2025, we will be deprecating support for Heroku Buildpacks and Paketo in favor of Nixpacks.

If you currently have an active deployment built using Heroku Buildpacks or Paketo, you will receive an email titled "Deprecation of Heroku Buildpacks & Paketo" with links to the services that need to be upgraded.

If you did not receive an email, you may ignore this thread.

What This Means

If you're currently using Heroku Buildpacks or Paketo for your Railway deployments, you'll need to upgrade to Nixpacks before the deprecation date.

How to Upgrade

1. Open the service(s) linked in the email you have received

2. Click "Upgrade to Nixpacks"

Automatic Upgrade

If you don't manually upgrade before February 21st, 2025, your services will be automatically upgraded to use Nixpacks. We recommend upgrading early to ensure a smooth transition and to address any potential issues ahead of time.
