At the moment, whilst we can have replicas within the same data centre location, that doesn’t protect against a data centre going down.

If we then have traffic distributed across multiple data centres, we run into latency issues with the database.

What I really want for HA, is multiple availability zones, that are physically close to each other. A similar setup run by PlanetScale, on AWS.
