We're bringing point-in-time recovery (PITR) to MySQL on Railway — the same capability that's already available for Postgres.

Right now, MySQL recovery is limited to volume snapshots, which means you can only roll back to the last snapshot and lose everything written since. With PITR, you'll be able to restore to any specific moment in time — right before a dropped table, a bad migration, or an accidental DELETE. Restores create a new MySQL service so your live database is never touched, giving you a chance to inspect the recovered data before committing to it. Enabling and disabling PITR will be a single action in the UI, and it works with high availability out of the box.
