i couldn't find a way to easily deploy new services from config as code without having to click around in the UI, there should be a way to do this through the railway cli more seamlessly

Definitely prefer IaC for deployment services. Being able to click and register a service is nice and all, but for a real production application with possibly multiple microservices I would definitely be choosing IaC instead of deploying via UI.
