$1,200 in Fraudulent Charges after Railway Security Breach. No Response from Support

I want to share my experience with Railway following the security incident on October 20–21, so other developers understand the potential consequences.

The morning after the breach, I woke up to over $1,200 in fraudulent Twilio charges. Attackers had used API credentials that were stored in my Railway environment variables to make unauthorized calls. As a result:

I had to urgently rotate all my API keys and credentials, which took many hours of development work.

I couldn't deploy the necessary changes for approximately 2.5 days because Railway had suspended deployments.

My customers were left without critical WhatsApp notification services, resulting in complaints and business disruption.

What disappoints me most is Railway's response.

Despite contacting support and requesting assistance and compensation, I have received no meaningful response to my financial losses or follow-up messages.

I'm not expecting a company to be immune to security incidents. They can happen to anyone, what I do expect is accountability, communication, and support when customers suffer real financial damage.

I'm sharing this publicly so other developers can make informed decisions about trusting Railway with their production infrastructure and sensitive credentials.

I hope someone from Railway will finally address this situation.
