Hi Railway team,
Since 25 October 2026, railway ssh has not been able to connect to any of our services. Both of our services are affected (our development service "howie-udv" and our production service "howie"). It still failed today, 26 October 2026.
What happens:
-
CLI login works, and the SSH key is accepted ("Using SSH key from file ...id_ed25519.pub").
-
The connection to the container then fails with:
"An error occurred connecting to your service. Please try again."
followed by
"Connection to ssh.railway.com closed by remote host."
Command used: railway ssh --service howie-udv "echo ok"
CLI version: railway 5.71.0
OS: Windows 11
The services themselves are running and serving traffic normally. Only SSH access is affected. Your status page mentioned that some features were disabled.
Could you tell us:
- Is this a known issue, or has SSH been intentionally disabled?
- When do you expect SSH access to be restored?
- Is there anything we need to change on our side (CLI version, keys, settings)?
We need SSH access for maintenance on our development database, so an estimated timeline would be very helpful.
Thank you in advance.
Best regards,
Niels Flindt
