There are a lot of valid uses needs for this.

  • DNS / Email hosting

  • A record / Naked domains (not all DNS providers have Alias support).

  • Services not requiring DNS lookups

  • Easier whitelisting for upstream services / Easier to implement IP based ACLS

?? I'm sure there are more.
