Pulling this out of a separate thread [0]:
It would actually be useful if Railway compressed responses when requested with
Accept-Encoding. Cloudflare does this [0] and it's nice, since it can be a pain to do it in middleware
For context, we supported this awhile back on the new proxy but ended up disabling the feature because it caused huge memory spikes on our proxy hosts. Adding this back is on our roadmap, but there's no ETA as of yet - our current priority is to migrate all users over to the proxy first [1]
edit: to clarify, this means we want the proxy to be able to compress responses natively so users don't have to do anything themselves.
