Accidentally mounted an old volume snapshot, need help restoring correct data

Hello,

Project: UpSearch en ligne

Service: UpSearchCRM/ATS

Environment: production

What happened:

While trying to resize our volume (it had reached 100% capacity), I clicked on what I believed was an option to mount/resize our active production volume. I now believe I accidentally mounted an old dated volume snapshot instead, which replaced our live data with a much older state.

Current situation:

  • Our live data now appears to be from before May 2025 (very old), even though we have used this app continuously and had data going up to today (July 28, 2026).
  • We have several volumes/snapshots visible in the project dashboard with different dates (e.g. "ra-crm-2026-05-10", "ra-crm-2026-05-12", plus one named "ra-crm-volume" which appears to be the current active one), each with their own nested backup history.
  • Our application's code/deployments are unaffected — only the data volume is impacted.
  • Additionally, PDF CV attachments linked to candidate records are now showing as unreadable/broken, which suggests the data records and the stored files may now be out of sync (possibly referencing files from a different volume state).

What I need help with:

  1. Please help me identify which volume/snapshot currently contains the most complete and correct dataset (ideally covering May 2025 through mid-May 2026, which is what appears to be missing from the live volume right now).
  2. Please help me safely restore that data WITHOUT losing the changes made in the last few days (I have already exported a JSON backup of the current live state via our app's own backup endpoint, dated July 28, 2026, so recent changes are not entirely lost — I just need to avoid making things worse before we merge them back in).
  3. Please clarify whether our file storage (used for CV attachments) is tied to the same volume or a separate one, since files seem to have gone out of sync with the data.

This is a production tool used daily by my recruitment team, so any guidance on the safest next step (rather than me clicking around further) would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much for your help.

Best regards,

Jérémy Lemanissier

Your data is not lost. Your project has four detached volumes that still hold their contents on our storage: "ATS/CRM" (~161 MB), two from 2026-05-10 (~151 MB each), and one from 2026-05-12 (~95 MB). The currently attached volume ("ra-crm-volume", ~110 MB) is the one serving your app now with the old data. The detached volume with the largest usage ("ATS/CRM" at ~161 MB) is likely your most complete dataset, and it can be recovered by reattaching it to the service. Since all volumes share the same /data mount path, your CV/PDF attachments live on the same volume as your database records, so reattaching the correct volume should bring both back in sync. Do not delete any of these detached volumes in the meantime, as that would start a permanent removal process.
