Hello, I am a teacher and I was looking for a free platform so that my students could deploy a REST API server with a PostgreSQL database. I have created an account using my Github account created at the beginning of the course (September) and it only allows me to deploy databases, it does not allow me to deploy applications from Github, can this be solved in any way? Also, I was wondering if the $5 free plan would be enough to deploy that API server with its respective database.

Hey there, I'm delighted to hear that you've chosen Railway as a platform for teaching!
Unfortunately, you seem to have a Limited Trial plan, this happens when Railway deems your github account too suspicious to allow you to host code on it freely. It decides this based on your github activity and history, and new accounts often get flagged. This is something you're likely to encounter on any PaaS, and normally the only workaround is upgrading to hobby plan.
I asked on your behalf and found out that Railway has given exceptions to this rule before, and I'm sure Railway would be happy to support your needs. On that note, I recommend you email billing@railway.app from the email you use on Railway and explain your use case and the problem you're facing and they might be able to help you.
To answer your other question, 5 dollars should be enough to host both an API server and a database, assuming it's not a very big app of course.
