All my services are pointed to the new Metal but still Railway Metal discount Ineligible

I don't understand why i'm still paying with the old pricing. I need to know since cost it is extremely imprortant.

Hello,

The threshold is based on 80% of your total usage coming from Metal services, not 80% of your total number of services. Even though you've migrated all your services to Metal, the system calculates this based on accumulated usage over time.

Since you've just completed the migration, it can take up to a full billing cycle for your Metal usage to accumulate to the required 80% threshold.

Please continue using your Metal services as normal, and the message should disappear automatically once you cross the 80% usage threshold.

I don't understand. I completed migration 2 months ago and there has been multiple billing cycles since then.
Who decides what usage is from metal and what usage it is not?

Hi Kyriakos,

Sorry to hear about any confusion with the Railway Metal discount.

Railway determines Metal usage eligibility based on the percentage of your overall usage, not the number of services migrated to Metal. The discount requires that 80% or more of your total resource usage comes from Railway Metal over a billing cycle. If your usage hasn't met this threshold, it might be due to some services still incurring usage outside of Metal.

Looking at all services across your projects, I see that there were several services that were migrated to Railway metal recently. These migrations were initiated by Railway and I see that your % is now closer to the 80% metal threshold. You can tell by seeing the auto upgrade banner we apply to these: https://docs.railway.com/railway-metal#gradual-upgrade

To ensure that you're on the right track, could you please double-check all your services across all projects are indeed running on Railway Metal now?

You can verify this by going to your service's settings and checking for the Metal (New) tag next to the region https://docs.railway.com/railway-metal#how-do-i-know-if-im-on-railway-metal

Awesome, excited for you to be on Railway Metal!

As Brody mentioned earlier on this thread, the threshold is based on 80% of your total usage coming from Metal services so this will be on accumulated usage over time. Since you've just completed the migration, it can take up to a full billing cycle for your it to accumulate to the 80% threshold.

Continuing to use your Metal services as normal will automatically have you hit the the 80% usage threshold, so you shouldn't need to take any further steps.
