I wanted to share a quick win in case anyone else bumps into this frustrating issue.
My app suddenly started throwing 502 Bad Gateway errors out of nowhere. The code hadn't changed, the environment variables were fine, and it was running perfectly fine locally.
After checking the logs and troubleshooting for a bit, I decided to try something simple: I changed the deployment region in Railway.
Guess what? It started working instantly! 🎉
🛠️ What I did:
Went to my service settings in the Railway dashboard.
Navigated to the Settings tab.
Scrolled down to Region and switched it to a different one (e.g., from US-East to Europe, or vice versa).
Let Railway redeploy the app.
If your app suddenly goes down with a 502 and everything seems fine on your end, give this a shot. It might just save you hours of debugging a ghost config issue!
Has anyone else experienced temporary routing or region-specific hiccups lately?

The region setting is located in the Scale section of your service's settings (not a standalone "Region" field under Settings), per our Regions docs. Glad switching regions resolved the 502 for you.
