The following is a Gemini answer to why my code is not sending data to my email. I have the hobby plan, which seems to be robust enough for my current needs. I want to make sure that the information I am getting is accurate before upgrading my account to either Pro or Developer. Obviously I hope to stay in the pay tier that optimizes cost.

The logs in your screenshot confirm our exact suspicion: both Port 465 and Port 587 suffered a hard timeout.

This is not a bug in your code. You have run into a strict network firewall rule enforced by your cloud host. Railway completely blocks outbound traffic on all standard email ports (25, 465, and 587) for standard/trial tier accounts. They do this to prevent spammers from spinning up free servers and abusing their datacenter IPs.

Because Railway is dropping the connection before it ever reaches Google, Python just sits there waiting until the 60-second timer runs out.

We have two ways to fix this, depending on how you want to scale the Zumwalt coloring book business:

Option 1: The Account Upgrade (No Code Changes)

If you upgrade your Railway account to their "Developer" plan (which requires entering a billing method, though it remains pay-as-you-go based on usage), Railway automatically lifts the SMTP port block.

The Result: The exact code you already have deployed will instantly start working, and your emails will route straight through Google's SMTP.

Outbound SMTP is only available on the Pro plan and above, while Free, Trial, and Hobby plans have SMTP disabled.

For sending emails from your application, please use a dedicated email service that provides HTTPS APIs. More information can be found in our documentation:
