Hey there, so we have found that the DB in question was created with the beta DB flag. We SHOULDN’T leave your database in a feature dead end and prevent you from not enabling backups.

We can dump and restore your DB to a DB that supports backups if you’d like where you can get the backups feature, or you can use our external backup template where you can send the snapshots to S3 that can help keep backups.

If the only solution is dump and restore, I’ll try to do that myself.

A dump and restore is advisable to unblock you as quickly as possible. I'm not certain how you ended up with the Beta volume provisioned

I have set up another db and migrated everything. Now the backup seems to work.

I was quite quick with shifting my db to Metal, so maybe that's how I ended up with the Beta volume.
