Billing failed; Downgrade/Upgrade plan

Hi, my monthly payment was due for 2nd Sept, and I couldn't get a card funded and my plan was downgraded to free plan from hobby plan on the 11th Sept. My problem is, something similar had happened to me and when I paid, it just cleared unpaid invoice and I was required to pay again to upgrade to hobby plan. Now I am 9 days late and my plan has been downgraded. If I pay now, would I be upgraded automatically so that I can continue my billing cycle due for 2nd monthly or I'd need to pay once again (double)

Just to be clear, you didn’t pay your Sept 2nd invoice, causing your workspace to be closed on the 11th. You’ve now paid that unpaid invoice, but you’re being asked to pay to reactivate hobby plan. Is that correct?

Correct, the invoice was left unpaid for an extended period of time so the Railway subscription was cancelled.

Yes, so in the past it happened and I paid twice, I wanna know if I pay the September 2nd invoice I would be automatically reinstated back to my Hobby plan. The last time it happened, I paid outstanding and then I had to pay again which is not cool.

That's crazy, why wouldn't I just pay for usage from September 2nd to September 11th
Why do I need to pay the whole stuff and still pay again to upgrade back to Hobby

If I pay the Sept 2nd invoice it'll show that it'll expire October 2nd

So why can't I make use of that payment since it'll run till October 2nd?
And I wasn't warned about this

The plan has already expired, you're paying off the old invoice for the previous billing cycle, it cannot be used for the next billing cycle.

It's prepaid not postpaid

I pay first then I use. I paid and after 30 days it expired and I was expected to pay again and I couldn't pay on the 2nd. So I'm not paying old invoice. Tye best thing to do is to reverse the downgrade immediately I pay. I didn't miss payment for a month so why would I pay outstanding for a whole month. I missed payment for 9 days and now I pay for 30 days and then pay for another 30 days to upgrade to hobby plan?
It's not transparent at all.
And I can't pay for a whole year as well.
Finding dollar cards in some countries can be hard so literally its stuffy mate

Railway is postpaid, you pay at the end of the billing cycle for your subscription and the usage you used during that previous billing cycle.

I've attached the invoice

As you can see, my usage from August 2nd to September 2nd is total $1.79 that is Disk, Network, vCPU and Memory. (Underlined in greed in the attached screenshot)

I can pay that it is postpaid no problem.

But underlined in red is Sept 2 to Oct 2, 2025 for $5

What I'm saying is if I pay this invoice, would I get the hobby play as written in the invoice from Sept 2 - Oct 2, 2025?

It's clear in the invoice i attached.
