I just deployed a new change to my project and it seems like the build is failing. I can't even abort it. Any thoughts?

There should be a notification on the project dashboard when there's an issue.

I can confirm this behavior .. build is taking more than 30 mins and not working.

Agreed. The status saying "All systems operational" and "Deploys are taking longer than normal to go out" seems disingenuous.
The builds/deploys aren't working at all.

If my deployments are stuck on initializing should I remove/abort them and retry, or is this issue constant?

I would await further instruction. You may need to redeploy once the outage has been resolved.
Deployments are coming back online. I hope we can get an incident report in the coming days.
