Project: bountiful-nourishment
Environment: production
Service: Scales-Solutions
Our deployments repeatedly fail during BUILD_IMAGE before dependency installation or application build steps run. Two redeploy attempts have also failed.
Error:
Build Failed: build daemon returned an error < listing workers for Build: failed to list workers: Unavailable: connection error: desc = "error reading server preface: raw-read unix @->/run/buildkit/buildkitd.sock: use of closed network connection" >
Railway’s automatic diagnosis identifies this as an Infrastructure Error.
This matches incident https://status.railway.com/incident/ILLVW9WG, which was marked resolved on October 28. Our failures are occurring on November 2.
Build setup:
- Railpack 0.43.0
- Node 24.22.1
- pnpm 10.33.0
- Build command: pnpm --filter @workspace/api-server build
- Start command: pnpm --filter @workspace/api-server start
The previous deployment remains online, but the latest changes cannot deploy.
Please investigate whether the builder issue has recurred or is affecting our service specifically.

We read the build logs for your latest attempt (16:11 UTC today). Railpack detected Node 24.22.1 and pnpm 10.33.0, and then the build daemon dropped its connection with the buildkitd.sock error you quoted. This happened before pnpm install started, so the failure did not come from your dependencies, your build command or your code.
When builds fail shortly after starting with this BuildKit error, the documented fix is a fresh deployment rather than redeploying an existing one. You can push a new commit, or choose Deploy Latest Commit from the Cmd+K / Ctrl+K command palette.
We can't tell from the logs whether this was a one-off on the builder or something that affects your service specifically. If a fresh deploy from a new commit still fails with the same error, please share the time it failed in UTC.
