Every build has been failing since earlier today with "failed to connect

before deadline". The build never starts — it fails during initialization,

before any of my build commands run.

WHAT I TRIED

• Redeploy from the dashboard: same error

• Redeploy again after waiting: same error

• Looked for a Metal builder toggle in Settings (a similar case was solved

  that way) but the option is not exposed for my service

WHY I DON'T THINK IT'S MY CODE

• The exact same commit builds cleanly on my machine

• The previous deploy of this same service succeeded a few hours earlier with

  no changes to the build configuration

• The failure happens before my build command executes

SETUP

• npm workspaces monorepo, Node backend deployed from the repo root

• Root Directory: empty, config in railway.json at the repo root

• Builder: Nixpacks

  buildCommand: npm install --include=dev --no-audit --no-fund &&

            npm run build --workspace=packages/shared-types &&
  
            npm run build --workspace=apps/api

  startCommand: npm run start --workspace=apps/api

I noticed there is an active incident on your status page ("Deployments are

slow to progress", 7M7CBL9X) opened around the same time my builds started

failing. Is this the same root cause? If so I'll wait — but I'd like to

confirm before changing anything in my deploy pipeline.
