I upgraded to Pro specifically to try this feature.
I generated a github personal access token with the scope read:packages and in the credentials field on Railway for the image, I entered in the format of <github_username>:<token>
No idea if this is a syntax issue or scope issue with the token

Nevermind, I figured out to enter ONLY the token in the credentials field and then it worked.
Some feedback: clearer documentation on this feature would be appreciated. I'm assuming it works like this because my github account is linked?

No, a GITHUB_TOKEN works regardless of the linked GitHub account. Thanks for the suggestion on docs. API tokens can be pretty confusing (there's alot of different ones especially on github) so I understand your confusion.
