Certificate Issuance Stuck

Service: 1311Events (ID: 17ea95eb-b3c5-4a12-ad4e-78a8f465fb0a)

Project: website (47017d0d-1845-4f29-be7c-b00264c383cf)

Environment: production

I'm trying to add a custom domain to my Next.js service. When I add it via the Railway dashboard and deploy, the custom domain configuration doesn't persist — it keeps showing as empty when I check the networking settings afterward.

DNS is configured correctly (CNAME pointing to Railway's target). The site is accessible, but the SSL certificate isn't being issued because the domain config won't save.

Can you investigate why the custom domain configuration isn't persisting?

www.1311events.com is resolving to a valid SSL for me, it's likely just a caching issue on your end

What's the domain in question?

Your www.1311events.com subdomain is already configured, verified, and has a valid SSL certificate. The apex domain 1311events.com is not added to the service. However, the Trial plan is limited to 1 custom domain and that slot is already used by www.1311events.com, so adding the apex as a second domain would require upgrading to the Hobby plan. Additionally, your DNS is managed by GoDaddy, which does not support CNAME flattening at the apex level, so you would need to either switch your nameservers to a provider like Cloudflare or use a redirect from the apex to www.1311events.com at your registrar.

Railway Bot is 100% correct, www.1311events.com is working fine, an alternative you can try is using a redirecting service (or a built in one if GoDaddy supports it) to redirect traffic from your apex domain (1311events.com) to www.1311events.com which circumvents both the nameserver issue and 1 custom domain limit issue

I can do redirecting it is not an issue. But the problem is not secure badge. Will it be updated as it is now been quite a long time since configured my dns on Godaddy. And for starters do I add my domain here as www.1311events.com? I did it that way it gives me www value and I am able to add it. I am thinking domain forwarding on godaddy but as long as the not secure badge is there it is a huge problem for me.

Yes, adding it as www.1311events.com is correct, and that's already configured with a valid SSL certificate, so https://www.1311events.com is fully secure. The "not secure" badge you're seeing is on the apex 1311events.com, which has no SSL certificate because it isn't added to Railway. Setting up domain forwarding in GoDaddy from 1311events.com to https://www.1311events.com will resolve that, since visitors will land on the secured www subdomain.

I already have done it and waited before but it did not resolve it. Do you think I am missing something else.
