Service names (of the same service) are synced to other environments, meaning that you may already have another service with the name you are trying to rename this service to.

Yes, I already have the same name in another environment, so does that mean I can't use the same name in different environments? It feels a bit strange to have to search for alternative names, and the rest of the team needs to be aware of this as well.

You can't have another service with the same name as long as they are in the same project, even in different environments (syncing environments will potentially add another service with the same name from another environment).
