Clarification on Template Earning Accumulation logic

Hi Railway team,

I saw a previous post regarding payout timing for template earnings, but my question is specifically about how the accumulated earnings for templates are calculated and displayed.

When I navigate to:
https://railway.com/workspace/earnings

I see the following sections:

  • Templates (30d)

  • Referrals (30d)

  • Bounties (30d)

  • Available Balance (Lifetime)

I have two related questions:

1. Why does the Templates (30d) value fluctuate?

I noticed that the amount shown under Templates (30d) fluctuates over time, even though I haven’t withdrawn anything or used credits.

Is this expected because the value is calculated over a rolling 30-day window, meaning older earnings fall off and the total decreases?
Or is there another mechanism behind how template earnings are counted?

2. Why is my Available Balance (Lifetime) still zero?

Even though my templates have generated earnings and the Templates (30d) section shows non-zero numbers, my Available Balance (Lifetime) is still 0.

My understanding was that template earnings should eventually accumulate into the Available Balance.
Does this mean:

  • template revenue shown in the 30-day window is not yet added to the Lifetime Available Balance,

  • or is there an approval / processing stage before the earnings become withdrawable?

I want to confirm whether the numbers shown under Templates (30d) represent revenue before it becomes available, or if something else is preventing the balance from updating.

Hi,

  1. Yes, the fluctuation you see in the Templates (30d) section is expected. That value is calculated over a rolling 30-day window, so as older earnings fall outside that window, the total updates accordingly.

  2. Your Available Balance (Lifetime) is still zero because your template earnings are currently set to auto-withdraw as Railway credits. If you want your earnings to accumulate as a withdrawable balance instead, turn off the auto-withdrawal to credits. Once that's disabled, new earnings will start to show up in your available balance.

Hi Brody,

Thanks for your reply. I would like to follow-up on 2.
I did open the auto-withdraw credit, and below it I saw withdraw history section (I assumed this is for Railway credit),
but what baffled me is that, it seems to withdraw constantly every single day. Did I understand the withdraw history right?

I assume it only use the credit for my monthly bill deduction, but I have no idea what all these withdraw history turn into.

Best,

okay never mind, I saw it, it's under the Usage page to see the overall Credits Available
not in the earnings page. now I understand, thank you.
