You can wipe the volume from within its settings page -

But your two asks kind of conflict -

"I would like to simply clear the data" & "without affecting anything else"

Well, anything that relies on that data will be affected, so please make sure you are making an informed decision before wiping anything as we cannot restore data you delete.
