Cloudflare connected but site still shows 404

Hi, I have a domain on cloudflare. Then I deployed my next js app on railway and followed the instruction to create a new custom domain and added a CNAME @ record in my cloudflare dashboard. Currently, it shows that my cloudflare proxy is detected, but record is not yet detected. And when I click on my website, it redirects it to a 404 page.

you should see an orange cloud thing in cloudflare, that can mess with the records so i would try turning that off (to dns only mode) until railway sees you own the domain then turn it back on

Sure, let me try that. btw how long does it usually take for cloudflare dns to propagate to railway?

I havent tried specifically with railway, but normally I find dns changes take less than 5 minutes to update. They normally say it can take a couple days though, so I guess just hope for the best lol

Well, I've been pondering on this issue for 2 days already, it is really pissing me off to the point I'm thinking of switching to vercel to host my next js app

btw i found out that if i turn off the proxy from cloudflare it gives me this TLS verification issue, consistently. So it looks like turning the proxy off isn't really a viable solution anymore

I would try to keep the cloud on dns mode for a little longer and see if the domain gets activated in railway. Also, make sure when your testing you dont go to the website with www. at the beginning until you set that up in cloudflare too

yeah I've turned it off, checking back in 15 minutes to see if anything would change
