CNAME and Cloudflare

I have gone through that thing that other people have had where they can't add a cname with @ as suggested to setup a custom domain.

Moved my nameservers to cloudflare and that's now registered.

When I add the details in cloudflare I get the error - An A, AAAA, or CNAME record with that host already exists.

I've had a look and a do have a CNAME of type www pointing to my domain name.

How do I fix this or setup Railway to work with my domain name? It seems complicated compared to vercel.

I think if you have any conflicting records it wont let you add duplicate DNS records. What is your goal? If i can better understand that, then i can give you a better answer.

Hey, please remove the other records in Cloudflare that are on the apex/root domain (@), if your goal is to add your apex/root domain.

Thank you both very much. I've removed the 2 A records and it allowed me to add the Railway CNAME for @. Just waiting to see if it's fixed.

I am glad that I could help. Keep in mind that you may have to readd your domain to your Railway service as it may have already given up on checking for DNS updates, that is, if you added it a while ago.
