If you are trying to add a root domain (e.g., example.com), GoDaddy doesn't support CNAME flattening or dynamic ALIAS records. Your only option is to change your domain's nameservers to point to Cloudflare's nameservers as a workaround.

Thank you for sharing link. I found "Change my domain nameservers" in GoDaddy. How can I find name server of railway.com?

Hey there!

Since universal DNS rules actually don't allow a CNAME on the root domain (@), the easiest workaround without leaving GoDaddy is to use www for your app and just forward the bare domain to it.

Here is how you can set that up in a couple of minutes:

First, go ahead and add your CNAME record in GoDaddy just like you were trying to do, but put www as the name instead of @ and point it to your Railway domain.

Next, scroll down to the Forwarding section in your GoDaddy domain settings. You'll want to set up a new forwarding rule so that whenever someone types in your bare domain (like yourdomain.com), GoDaddy automatically redirects them to https://www.yourdomain.com.

Just make sure you choose "Permanent (301)" as the forward type so browsers know it's the official address.

That should get everything routing to your Railway app perfectly! Let me know if you hit any snags while setting it up.

I don’t think transferring into Railway is supported at the moment. As Darseen mentioned above, you should migrate to Cloudflare’s DNS service.

GoDaddy already added with value 'www' instead of '@' in this video - https://www.godaddy.com/en-ca/help/change-my-domain-nameservers-664 mentioned use own name server. I want to know which name server I need to write.

I fixed without Cloudflare. I added www before domain name in Railway and redirect to www domain in GoDaday.com
