This is my first time deploying on Railway and using an open-source software
What will happen when the open source project makes changes and improvements to its codebase? Do those get reflected in our Railway-deployed version as well?

Updates to the upstream open-source project are not automatically applied to your deployment. If you deployed from a template, Railway will notify you when the template author pushes updates, and you can choose when to apply them. By default, your service is attached to the template repository, so you can receive these update notifications. More details here: Template Updates.
