Confirm deletion status of a synthetic test volume after deleting its environment

Hello Railway team,

We deleted an isolated temporary environment and its test service today, 14 September 2026, around 16:01 UTC. Its dedicated volume contained synthetic test data only. The environment and service disappeared. The volume initially still had an unattached settings page; that page now no longer displays the volume.

Your documentation says deleted volumes are queued for permanent deletion within 48 hours. We do not want to repeat the deletion, restore or reattach the volume, recreate resources, or request an extraordinary purge.

Could you confirm whether this volume is already queued for normal deletion, including the request date and expected completion, or whether a normal cleanup action is still needed? Please also clarify any storage billing during retention; we are not assuming zero charges.

This is a public thread, so I have omitted all private project and resource identifiers. Please provide the appropriate private channel where I can supply the exact temporary volume ID for this single check. Do not modify any production resource or subscription.

Thank you.

Deleting a volume that holds data starts a 48-hour retention window, after which permanent removal happens automatically. No cleanup action is needed, and there is no way to expedite or extend the window. Volume storage is billed per GB/minute for the time the volume exists, including during that retention period, and will appear on your next monthly invoice. There is no need to share the volume ID for this, as the behavior is the same for every deleted volume.
