I see the option to buy a domain but how do I connect a domain I already own to a deployment?

In the networking tab of your service settings, add a custom domain. It will provide the necessary DNS records for you to add into your DNS provider.
Note that some DNS services don't support using the root domain (@), so in that case, I'd recommend using Cloudflare's DNS service if you aren't yet.
