Hello! I'm trying to connect my domain onlineonelproff.com to the Railway project (previously the domain was connected to another railway hosting). Domains purchased on https://my.a2hosting.com . Connecting a subdomain www.onlineonelproff.com the CNAME works correctly, but the root domain (onlineonelproff.com ) when adding writes: "not available." I'm following your instructions: I added the domain (www) in the Railway project settings. On the a2hosting side, I added a CNAME for www on ar2e0fmj.up.railway.app. I tried to use A-records for the root domain, but I don't know the correct IP for your service. How do I connect the root domain to Railway correctly? Do I need to change the A-records of the root domain in order for the root domain to work with www?

Railway relies on root level CNAMEs for assigning root domains, unfortunately root level CNAMEs is very rarely supported among domain name registrars and domain name servers. For your case you'll want to use Cloudflare as a DNS, you don't need to move to Cloudflare as a registrar, just the DNS. The reason I recommend this is because Cloudflare does support root level CNAMEs and so you'll be able to add the root domain to Railway

I did as you said, moved everything to Cloudflare. I added a CNAME for the root domain (the same as for www), but when adding the root domain to railway, it still writes: "not available". NS records for the domain have been changed to Cloudflare.

Your www and @ wouldnt use the same CNAME value, where did you get that value from for your root domain?
You're going to want to remove onlineonelproff.com from your Railway settings and from your Cloudflare DNS and then add it back to Railway and then use the value Railway provides for your CNAME value on Cloudflare

do you perhaps have it added on a different service? perhaps you deleted a project recently that had that domain on one of the services? Railway might say not available if the domain is already added somewhere

That is, if the domain is added to another Railway project, but dns records no longer lead to it, I still won't be able to add it to my project?

Correct, i believe if it exists on any other service then your domain will be marked as in-use and cannot be used by any other service. If you have used the domain on a previous service before then just make sure to remove it from that service

Have you resolved your issue?
If not, then I can help you with your DNS zones and redirects for "www" subdomain.
