I have been experimenting with Railway for a small production application for the last two weeks. Coming from AWS, Vercel, and Supabase, the experience has been quite rough. I have been getting a lot of sporadic build failures in the Metal environment that are fixed simply by retrying the build. There's usually zero logs to go with these failures. Today, there seems to be an outage and all my builds are failing, again. Is Railway a serious production service? Their own documentation says Railway Metal is stable, but my experience over the last two weeks is quite the opposite.
Do folks use Metal or do you disable it? Anyone running any serious production services in Railway?

Oh, this request worked. I got an error when posting this message. I got an email welcoming me to the railway community but no link to this message. I figured it had failed which is why I posted it on Discord as the email welcomed me to use Discord. Posting a duplicate in Discord was an honest mistake. Sorry Brody.

Hey, just to clear up the mix up, Railway metal refers to Railway's own hardware and infrastructure, which is different from the metal build environment. This thread has been escalated to the team, in the meantime, you could try to disable the metal build environment in your service's settings as a workaround.

Thanks for the super fast response. Apologies for the lack of specificity, you are right, I meant the Metal Build environment. I assumed these were one in the same.
I can confirm that disabling metal build for now does indeed work reliably for me so far. When there are errors introduced by mistakes I've made, I now get a detailed log of the issue.
I'll keep Metal Builds disabled for now.
