I deployed a MongoDB instance from template on Jan 27, and I haven't touched it ever since (because I'm still going through online tutorials to figure out the best next step). 12 hours ago (10 days after deployment) I received a crash notification and an email followed to tell me that 50% of my trial credits are gone.
That's super bad experience.

Hello,
Since you left Mongo running it would have continued to use resources and wither away at your trial credits.
To prevent that going forward, you can enable app sleeping! -

As for the crash, unfortunately, Mongo can not run happily on 500MB of storage (trial plan limit) so eventually it will try to allocate more than 500MB and crash, that is what you got the crash notification for.
