Creating Volumes on Non-Metal

I'm trying to create a service that uses the latest Neo4j image and attach a volume to it. I tried using the "neo4j" service template, but it would default to having both the service and the volume on the US West Metal region. I finally was able to configure the service to be in the old non-metal west region (US West, Oregon), but then when creating and attaching a new volume it configures it to be in the US West Metal region and I can't change it to match the service.

I've had issues with doing this in Metal regions (https://station.railway.com/questions/neo4j-error-getting-physical-memory-on-d2b29294) and I understand that it's not supported yet. I have a "staging" environment that used the template to create the service and volume for neo4j (created before Railway Metal was an option), so I know the template is good.

Is there a way to force the volume to be created in non-metal regions?

Anyone working on this?

Hello,

For Hobby users, the only Non-Metal region that you have access to is the US-West region.

I can't create a volume that goes to the US-West Non-Metal region via the dashboard. Is there any way I can?

I also see that you've archived the ticket I've referenced. I wasn't necessarily asking for help with Neo4j. I was more asking if that was a known issue that Java can't get the total physical memory.

Have you tried setting your preferred region?

It is not a known issue, or an issue with the platform, hence the archive.

I have tried setting the preferred region. It won't trigger the dropdown to select (US West, Oregon).

I have also tried deleting the service, creating a new one in (US West, Oregon) and right-clicking on the service and clicking "Attach volume" and relying on what your documentation says (that the volume would be created in the same region) but it still creates it in (US West, California [Metal]).

This is what I see when I try to do that:

I also can't change my preferred region to anything non-Metal to somehow coerce the volumes to be created in Non-Metal regions.

Ah yes, my bad, a preferred region is only going to give you Metal options.

So I guess the short answer here is that this is a user problem and I'm not going to get much help to troubleshoot this.
