goDaddy does not support CNAME flattening or dynamic ALIAS records.

As recommended by Railway, you can change the goDaddy nameserver to point to Cloudflare's nameservers.
This will allow you to use a CNAME record.

  1. Create a Cloudflare account, it's free.

  2. Find the information about Cloudflare's nameservers (see the attached screenshot for help).

  3. Update your goDaddy nameserver https://www.godaddy.com/en-ca/help/edit-my-domain-nameservers-664

  4. Go back to Cloudflare and add your domain. Cloudflare will automatically scan and transfer all details.

  5. Go to the DNS->Records page, then you can add the CNAME as Railway suggested (https://docs.railway.com/guides/public-networking#custom-domains)

  6. Done!
