Custom domain "frontierredata.com" stuck as "Not available" after deleting previous project

Hi Railway team,

I had a project deployed at frontierredata.com and accidentally deleted it. I've since created a new project in my Hobby workspace and am trying to re-attach the same custom domain to the new web service, but Railway keeps showing "Not available" for the domain, even after selecting a port.

I assume the domain is still bound to the deleted project on the backend. Could you release frontierredata.com so I can attach it to my new service?

Account email: jimmy@frontierredata.com

GitHub username: frontierdataguy

Current workspace: positive-mindfulness

Current service that needs the domain: web (web-production-69500f.up.railway.app)

Domain to release: frontierredata.com

DNS in Porkbun still points to Railway, and the _railway-verify TXT record is in place from the original setup. I just need the domain to become available for re-attachment on my account.

Thanks for the quick help — this is a live business site and customers can't currently reach it.

Best,

Jimmy Lawrence

Hey there,

Got it. To release the domain on our side, just reply confirming:

  • The domain in question
  • That you currently control the DNS for it

That's enough verification for us. I'll detach it within a few hours, and you'll be able to re-add it from a new project once it's released.

If the domain is stuck on an account you can no longer access (closed or deleted), let me know the original account email and I'll handle it through our admin flow.

Thanks,

Angelo
