Custom domain reigncommand.com stuck "Waiting for DNS update"

Custom domain reigncommand.com added to my service (grateful-reflection / Reign-Command), currently stuck on "Waiting for DNS update" for 12+ hours.

Troubleshooting completed:

  • DNS verified correct via DNS-over-HTTPS query: CNAME flattens and resolves to the Railway target I was given
  • Removed and re-added the custom domain once already — received a new target (etlvuc5s.up.railway.app), still stuck on the same status
  • Railway-generated domain (reign-command-production.up.railway.app) works perfectly — app, DB, and API all healthy
  • SSL/TLS mode confirmed Full on Cloudflare, proxy set to DNS-only during validation as recommended

I see this matches an active pattern reported by other users today — see "Production custom domains failing TLS despite verified DNS" (braedenlyman) and "Custom domain serves no TLS cert despite valid certs being issued" — both describing verified-DNS custom domains failing validation/TLS around the same window.

Could someone check whether reigncommand.com's validation job is stuck, or whether this is the same edge-routing issue reported in those threads? Happy to provide any additional diagnostics.

I neither see a CNAME, nor a TXT record for the domain's DNS records. If you are adding the domain through the dashboard, you can automatically set up the DNS records since your DNS provider is Cloudflare. If you are using the API to add it, make sure you get the TXT record for _railway-verify.reigncommand.com, you can find it in verificationToken under status.

Your domain lacks a _railway-verify.reigncommand.com TXT record, which is used for verification.
