Custom domain without CNAME record

Our domain provider does not support CNAME records with root domains which seems to be the only option to set up a custom domain in Railway.

We are a bit surprised that there is no option to get a static public IP address which then simply could be used with an A/AAAA record.

Unfortunately, if there is no way around this limitation, we will need to ditch Railway for a different provider that supports this feature, which would break our heart as our experience with Railway has otherwise been flawless so far.

You could try using cloudflare as a nameserver instead, that will allow you to add root level CNAMEs

That would be an option but are dedicated IP addresses going to be supported in the near future?

Near future, probably not, the future, yes absolutely.

What DNS provider are you using?

There is some documentation here (https://docs.railway.app/guides/public-networking#redirecting-a-root-domain) that mentions that use of CNAME and ALIAS depend on the provider.
