database backup not working?

I'm trying to do a manual backup of my database but for unknown reasons the backup doesn't happen. its a small database, about 1gb of size, should be done in seconds.

Im not oncall, so I cant really stop what Im doing to investigate, but my guess is that you reached the backup limits. We should be showing you a toast explaining that though. Sorry you are getting this experience

no problem, so in theory i can just delete a old backup and continue to use it?

If you reached the limits, which I think you did by looking at your screenshot, but I havent investigated

i deleted an old one and still i couldnt do one

weirdly enough the database schedules seems to still work

So I looked at temporal and this seems to be the case: Maximum backup usage reached for you plan. Delete older backups to free up space

But we should be showing you a error message

Scheduled backups are exempt from limits, since there is a finite number of them (6 days + 3 weeks + 3 months)

yep it was that, deleted more old ones and it went through

thanks paulo!

The limit right now is 10, we can think of increaing it. Feel free to make a feature request

For whoever is oncall, there is still a bug here: we are missing the error message toast for some reason (I think there is a bug in websocket subscriptions sometimes swallowing messages, but it shouldn't be this consistent)

maybe to limit the option of manual backups would be nice but tbh im fine with 10 for now and schedule being "infinite"
