Deployments fail immediately with generic error, even on official Postgres template image

Hi Railway team,

I'm unable to get any service to deploy successfully in my project ("motivated-endurance" workspace, environment "production"). This affects both a custom service and an untouched official template, so I don't believe it's an application-level issue.

Services affected:

fastapisample — GitHub-connected service (repo: shimazakis0523/fastapisample, branch: claude/optimistic-sagan-corhnd). Fails with: "There was an error deploying from source."

Postgres — added via Database → PostgreSQL (image: ghcr.io/railwayapp-templates/postgres-ssl:18, unmodified). Fails with: "There was an error deploying the database." The Deployments tab shows "There is no active deployment for this service" even after retrying.

What I've already tried, with no change in behavior:

Verified GitHub repo/branch connection settings are correct

Added a payment method (card on file)

Added a billing address

Hard-reloaded the dashboard

Wiped the Postgres volume and redeployed

Waited and retried multiple times (in case of a transient platform issue)

I'm on the Free Workspace plan, region is locked to US East. Since even your own official Postgres template fails the same way, could you check on your end what's causing the deployment to fail immediately for this project? Happy to provide any additional info (project ID, service IDs, timestamps of failed attempts) you need.

Thanks!

Your workspace is on the Free plan, which restricts deployments during peak hours (08:00 - 20:00 ET for US East). All of your recent deploy attempts fell within that window, which is why both services fail immediately with a generic error. To deploy, you can either retry outside peak hours (before 08:00 or after 20:00 ET) or upgrade to the Hobby plan, which has no peak-hours restriction.
